B.K. Habermehl

With her unique and versatile style, B.K. Habermehl melds genres and tones into a jazz-influenced R&B/Pop landscape, driven by evocative lyrics and her musicality as a pianist. She began by writing and playing keys during her childhood, inspired by artists ranging from Brandy to Astrud Gilberto. Born and raised amongst the diverse influences of Southern California, B.K. has acted in theatre productions over the years, and she graduated Cum Laude from NYU with a major she created herself entitled “The Self-Sufficient Recording Artist and the African Diaspora.”

B.K. has grown to collaborate with Grammy-winning and nominated talents such as Akon, Jeff Gitty, Jerry Wonda, Keith Harris, DJ Khalil, and the Free Nationals. Interdisciplinary and involved in all levels of her art, B.K. recorded and engineered her debut single “Owe Me That” that was featured on several independent Spotify and Apple Music playlists. She also creatively directed the captivating music video, which is available on YouTube. B.K. has three songs featured on Season 4 of Issa Rae’s HBO hit show Insecure, including her single “Right on Time” featuring Lonr. that has received raving reviews. Her music has been featured on YouTube Music’s Blogged 50 Playlist, Shazam Discovery Top 50 on Apple Music, and on several Spotify editorial playlists, in addition to being in heavy rotation on radio stations in metropolitan areas across the United States.

B.K. has performed bicoastally as both a pianist for legends such as Dame Dash and as a featured artist alongside the Free Nationals, as well as delivering vibrant solo performances ranging from acoustic ballads to upbeat choreographed numbers backed by a full band and dancers. She is currently working on her debut album, which will be released this year. B.K.’s highly-anticipated new single “Purpose” is available now on all platforms!
